How to Play

Understanding the Game Board

Jewel Puzzle Blocks is played on a 5x5 game board of colored blocks, each block representing a different color. The object of the game is to match five or more blocks of the same color so that they can be removed from the board. The board is constantly refilling with new blocks and the player is awarded points for every grouping of matching blocks removed from the board.

Moving and Selecting Blocks

The goal of the game is to form groupings of five or more in order to clear the blocks. Blocks can be moved either by using the mouse or touchpad and clicking and dragging, or by using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Players can also select blocks by pressing the spacebar or backspace to undo any selection. After five or more blocks are grouped together, they will be removed from the board and the player will receive points.

Powerups and Special Combinations

The game also has bonuses and powerups awarded for special combinations of blocks. Players can get a bomb powerup by forming a group of four, or a lightning bolt by making a group of seven. The bomb destroys all blocks around it, while the lightning bolt destroys an entire row or column. There are also special combinations that award the player with extra points. For example, five adjacent blocks of the same color award double points.

Game Modes

The game also has several different game modes that can be played. Time mode has the player competing against the clock to get as many points as possible. Endless mode has the game going on indefinitely, and the goal is to get as many points as possible without the board filling up. Arcade mode has powerups, special blocks, and bonuses that add an extra layer of challenge to the gameplay. Finally, Zen mode focuses more on relaxation and doesn't factor in time or the board filling up.
